Camera and Audrey's journal

Each chapter limits how many photos you can take, and you keep up to four in Audrey's journal.

Steam's own text says Alfred's instant camera documents the journey and solves small environmental puzzles. It does not publish a shot count. Two reviews do, and they describe different steps:

• Tom's Guide: you are limited to just 12 per level if you want to print them for the journal at the end of the chapter.
• GamingTrend: after each chapter you select up to 4 photos to keep in the journal, and those choices come together in the epilogue. The same review mentions ordinary shots and selfies with expressions.

Read together, 12 is the print budget and 4 is the keep budget. This site has not confirmed those caps in the Steam build.

The walkthrough's opening ending is a useful mechanical check: shake the photo until the image appears, then open the journal and place the picture. Later chapters keep asking you to file pictures at a campsite, a booth, or a selfie with Sam.

Achievement descriptions from the Xbox tracker, not from a Steam schema dump, include photo counts of 10 selfies, 25 photos, and 50 photos. Those are cumulative goals, not the per-chapter cap. See the full list.
