A pre-release PS5 review reported checkpoint autosave, no manual save, and one file that a new game overwrites.

GamingTrend, September 29, 2026, early PS5 copy: after the ending you can go back with chapter select, starting a new game overwrites the current save, and there is only auto-save at certain checkpoints with no manual save. The reviewer listed “one save file with no replayability” among the drawbacks. That is one report about a pre-release console build. It is not a confirmation from the Steam client on October 9, 2026.

Steam's category list includes Steam Cloud. Cloud storage is not the same thing as a manual save slot. The store page does not describe when the checkpoint is written.

Practical consequence of that review: finish the interaction in front of you before you quit. If the Steam version adds a manual save later, this page should be updated from the new source rather than from this PS5 note.
